Women carry knowledge shaped by their everyday experiences.nnToday, we met with a group of women in the city of Deir al-Balah as part of the “Mujawara for People” initiative.nnThe meeting explored women’s experiences in everyday life, their relationships, responsibilities, and the changes that have affected people and the places they live in. Their stories revealed valuable knowledge about navigating reality, making the most of available resources, maintaining relationships, and finding ways to carry on.nnThe initiative draws on these experiences to understand the issues that matter to women, what connects their experiences, and the knowledge, resources, and capacities they possess.nnIn the upcoming meetings, the conversation will expand to explore shared concerns and identify what can be built upon and transformed into collective ideas and action.nnWhat women know through life is an essential part of our ability to understand it and shape our engagement with it.
